AMIGA partners met on the 17th-19th December in The Netherlands to discuss the latest results and to plan the next steps in their research activities. The meeting was hosted by the University of Wageningen.
After organising different parallel sessions to focus on the technicalities of each working group, the consortium gathered for a two-days meeting where each partner had the chance to present the Recent results achieved in the field trials and other research activities.
The project coordinator Dr Salvatore Arpaia from ENEA and the deputy coordinator Dr Antoine Messean from INRA led the discussion by giving inputs and planning the next, which include the new field season, the presentation of the expected results in different events at European and international level and the organisation of the first Summer School.
This last activity was finally presented to the consortium: Teagasc, with the support of Minerva Communication and University of Reading, is organising the first AMIGA Summer School to take place in September 2014 in Carlow, Ireland. The main aim is to involve post-graduate students and post-doctoral researchers with a background in biological/environmental science in interactive sessions on Environmental Risk Assessment (ERA) of GM crops. The school will combine lectures from international speakers and case studies, group work and field visits. The seminars will be provided by experienced researchers working in AMIGA project and external experts.
AMIGA partners will meet in the next months to plan other research activities and for the next project meeting in six months.
